PMC Company is a consulting company that since 1993 provides their client with the complete project management – from the initial idea to its implementation. We worked on more than 530 investment projects (535). Our contribution in development of Business zones and Free Zones are physical and financial appreciable in many local communities in Croatia. Director of our company and his associates started to work on port of Rijeka free zone concession from 1992. As the result of his work on Investment and development projects in Rijeka, Mr. Miran Cofek was nominated as the Assistant Minister in Ministry of economy in Zagreb on July 1996. He established state authority responsible for development of Free Zones in Croatia and designed existing Law on Free Zones in Croatia. During his mandate, the Croatian government established 5 Free Zones according to the Law on free zones: Port of Rijeka Free Zone, Zagreb Free Zone, Osijek Free Zone, Krapina Free Zone and Kukuljanovo Free Zone near Rijeka. Until now, Croatian Free Zones which employ 7.620 employees was invested around 269.000.000 Euro. We also work in other investment sectors in tourism and industry, along the whole territory of the Republic of Croatia, many investments in other Business, Industrial and Touristic zones in Croatia. Mr. Miran Cofek, PMC's general manager from 2000 to 2002 was employed in Luka Rijeka as Chief Executive Officer. During his mandate, many important projects related to port concessions and transport and technological reorganisation of port were done. He stipulated agreements with the main Europian container shiping companies BLG, Contship, Eurokai and Maersk. These companies and other arrival companies increased the capacities of transport of containers through the Port of Rijeka from 9.000 TEU in 2000 to 146.000 TEU (containers) in 2007 (for 16 times).

MANAGEMENT:

 
Company manager is Mr Miran Cofek. He started his career in a local industry as the project manager for developing the new products. After 6 years of experience in industrial production he was employed by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in Rijeka in Development department as the development consultant. During his job in Chamber of Commerce he specialized in Industrial Project Cycle Management (feasibility studies and development programs) in Netherlands in 1990 and got Master Degree in economic field on University of Zagreb on 1996. He was the Manager of Department for banks and other financial services in Chamber of commerce in Rijeka in last 5 years of his employment in Chamber. As the result of his work on Investment and development projects in Rijeka Mr Miran Cofek was nominated as the Assistant Minister in Ministry of economy in Zagreb on July 1996. He was responsible for development of Free Zones in Croatia. Port of Rijeka Free Zone, Zagreb Free Zone, Osijek Free Zone, Krapina Free Zone and Kukuljanovo Free Zone near Rijeka. Until now, Croatian Free Zones which employ 7,620 employees was invested around 269.000.000 euro Mr Miran Cofek had excellent experience with government organization, with administration system, with Croatian concession system, with system of Free Zones in Croatia and with system of Free Zones in other world countries. Total investment in Croatian Free Zones is 269.000.000 Euro till now, and 7.620 employees are working in Free Zones now. He did direct administrative job for preparing the concession decisions about Free Zones in Croatian government, and also he did consultant job for preparing the Law on Free Zones for Croatian parliament. Mrs. Ingrid Tomšić – Cofek, dipl. ing. grad. is director and legal certificated construction engineer with great experience in project management, controlling and associate in development programmes, project documentation and building. Mrs. Ingrid Tomšić – Cofek, dipl. ing. grad. is also legal certificated construction engineer on Trade court of Rijeka since 1994. Mrs. Ingrid Tomšić – Cofek, dipl. ing. grad. has also very good knowledge of Italian and English language.
 
We have also two legal certificated architects employed: Mr. Zlatko Krajačević, dipl. ing. arh. and Mr. Darko Mirković dipl. ing. arh. with great experience as a project managers, controllers and associates in development programmes, project documentation, urban plans and buildings. They have experience in work in Croatia, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Monte Negro, Macedonia etc. Mr. Darko Mirković has also knowledge of English, Italian, German, Slovenian and Spanish languages.

Study was made for getting the Croatian Government subventions for feeder service to Croatian ports. All decisions and contracts were done and the ship is sailing from March 1998. till now.

BLG didn't come in Rijeka, because port-operating company "Luka" didn't have the same business interest as BLG on 1998.
